Can we talk?
Where do you and your family spend the most time in your home?
Likely, it’s the kitchen.
Look around. What do you see? Are your counters clear or chaotic? Calming or a dumping ground? Intentionally organized or haphazardly placed?
If you answered mostly the latter, no judgment. You’re not alone.
Where the people go, so goes the clutter. But Savvy has a solution.
Let’s call it the Kitchen Counter Clutter Cleanse. And no, you don’t have to say it five times fast (although, that would be impressive!) With a few simple steps, you can level up those counters and enjoy your space a little more.
First, remember this…just because you use it, doesn’t mean you have to display it. That’s why we have cabinets and pantries. Because unlike people, kitchen appliances are not created equally. Some are counter-worthy, some are better stored. And why look at it all day when you only use it once — a day, a week, a month?
Ready? Let’s get to it…
1. Clear the counters. Yes, I mean it. All of it…the toaster, the coffeemaker, the mail, the fruit bowl, the utensil holder, the canisters, and whatever else might be hanging around.
Before putting anything back, consider what you have and what you actually USE. Purge what you don’t use and consider other places where you might store those items that don’t need to be displayed (I’m talking to you, mixer, juicer, coffeemaker)
Next, begin putting back ONLY the things you must…what you love, what’s beautiful, what you use too often to put away.
Finally, add a thing or two that makes you smile…a beautiful bowl for fruit, a special candle, a succulent, a leaning piece of art against the backsplash.
And that’s it. You’re done. Feeling inspired? Tag us with your pics, #savvyspaces
Can’t wait to see those beautiful, clutter-cleansed counters!
